"Am so sorry dear, mum
had some issues she wanted us to sort out.
That was why the call took so long. It's okay now though." Uche said to Mary who didn't even asked for an explanation.
"Why is your
conscience judging you? I can't even remember asking you for an
explanation." She said and turned her face to the other side.
At this Uche knew that the
supposed date was just about to become a unpleasant case study .
"Well, thank God we have enjoyed ourselves a little" He said in
his heart.
"Dearie, alright let
me sing you another song to appease you." Uche said softly.
Unable to resist, she
looked at him with a funny face and then said "You want to bribe me again
this time around abi? It's alright. I just hope this won't happen
again. You can go ahead to sing a song. At least entertain me for my time you
wasted"
Uche coughed softly as he
would always do before signing. He thought for some seconds the song he would
want to sing
This finally came to his
mind - "I lay my love on you by Westlife."
Then he started the song.

slowly and softly. Mary of course fell for this. The atmosphere became so
emotional and filled with love and romance once more. Both birds fell in each
